A simple but delicious cake recipe:
Cream soft butter with lemon zest, sugar, vanilla sugar, whipped cream, salt. Fold in eggs a little at a time. Stir in flour with baking powder. Grease the bottom of a cake springform pan (28cm). Sprinkle with flaked almonds and sugar. Pour in the mixture. Press 3/4 stoned cherries into the dough. Bake for 45 minutes at 175 degrees. Cool for 15 minutes and turn out onto a cooling rack. Boil apricot jam on low heat for 2 min. Spread through a sieve and brush the cake with it. Cover the cake with the pitted cherries.
