Try this delicious cake recipe:
Cream shortening until creamy. Add sugar, vanilla sugar and salt and stir through. Add eggs one at a time and continue mixing until sugar is dissolved. Combine flour and baking powder and stir into mixture.
Fill the dough into a cake springform pan (26 cm ø) greased at the bottom and fold in about 3cm rim.
For the topping, cream the fat, stir in the sugar, rum flavoring and eggs in order.
Peel apples, grate coarsely and mix with juice of one lemon. Stir into the egg-fat mixture together with the coconut flakes.
Pour onto the dough in the pan and smooth down. Bake in a heated oven at 175 °C (gas: level 2) for 60-70 min.
