Remove the skin from the apples, cut them into quarters, remove the core and dice them. Melt 2/3 of the butter in a saucepan. Roast the apple pieces in it for 10 minutes at low heat until golden, stirring again and again.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Sift the flour into a suitable bowl, beat the eggs one by one and add them. Mix with the flour. Sift 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar into the mixture. Pour the milk in portions. Mix everything until homogeneous. Finally add the apples.

Grease an ovenproof dish well with the remaining butter. Pour in the mixture.

Bake the casserole in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes until golden. Sift the remaining powdered sugar over the top and serve hot or possibly lukewarm.
