For the chocolate granita, mix cocoa powder in a saucepan with a little water.

Add sugar, coffee and 275 ml of water and heat slowly. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add another 275 ml of water and the ice cubes.

Stir until the ice has melted. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan and freeze for about 1.5 hours until a hard crust has formed.

Then blend the mixture in a large bowl until smooth. Pour back into the mold and freeze for 1 hour.

To serve, pour the chocolate granita into tall glasses and garnish with some whipped cream, if desired.
