For the tuna burger, combine tuna, herbs, green onions, cilantro and lemon zest with the chili in a bowl. Alternatively, if you want a more homemade version, finely chop all ingredients and mix well together.
Transfer the mixture to a clean work surface and divide into 4 pieces. Chop the tuna and divide into burger loaves (TIP: the fish won’t stick as much with wet hands), first forming them round and then pressing them together with your hand.
Let the finished tuna loafs rest with plastic wrap or with something similar for half an hour. Preheat the pan or grill well. Brush the loaves with oil on both sides and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Sear each patty for about 2 minutes on both sides, or until cooked to your liking.
Lightly sear the burger buns on a griddle/or skillet with ribs, then top each burger with the tuna loaf. Garnish with ketchup, marinated lettuce leaves and a slice of tomato if desired.
Preparation Tip:
A good tip is to put a lemon wedge next to it so that you can marinate the tuna loaf afterwards.
